The current-gen Hyundai Verna was launched in India on March 21, 2023. Now in its 6th generation, the Verna is Hyundai’s current flagship sedan in India. The Verna has a distinctive design, premium interiors, and offers a two-strong selection of naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol engines, with the latter quite popular among enthusiasts. It also offers creature comforts like infotainment touchscreen, sunroof, cooled glovebox, wireless charger, LED headlights, and more. The Verna rivals the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Honda City. Hyundai Verna price starts at Rs 11.07 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai Verna Latest Updates

  • January 2025: Hyundai introduced new variants across Verna: 1.5L Turbo GDi Petrol S(O) DCT and 1.5L MPi Petrol S IVT, priced at ₹15.27 lakh and ₹13.62 lakh respectively (ex-showroom). These variants come equipped with features like an electric sunroof, paddle shifters, and drive modes.


  • November 2024: The Verna received cosmetic updates which included a new Amazon Grey colour option and a sporty boot-lid spoiler. It also features a price increase by up to ₹6,000 across all trims, excluding the base EX variant.


  • March 2024: The Hyundai Verna marked a high waiting period which increased up to 6 weeks due to its high demand.


  • October 2023: Later on this sixth-generation Hyundai Verna received a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP for both adult and child occupant protection. ​


  • March 2023: Hyundai launched the sixth-generation of Verna in India. It featured a new design language called 'Sensuous Sportiness', had advanced features, and updated powertrains.

Hyundai Verna variants

The Hyundai Verna’s lowest trim, EX, is priced at 11.07 Lakh while its highest trim, SX(O) Turbo DCT Dual Tone, is priced at 17.55 Lakh (ex-showroom). The entry-level turbo variant starts from the S(O) trim and from there it goes higher. Higher trims like SX and SX(O) offer top-tier features such as ADAS, digital cockpit, ventilated seats, and more. Please note that these are the ex-showroom prices and the final car price is higher due to the RTO, insurance and other expenses. Also, the price may vary based on your location, transmission, and colour selection.

Hyundai Verna mileage

Even without a diesel option, the Hyundai Verna offers impressive mileage across its petrol variants. The 1.5L MPi petrol engine delivers a claimed mileage of around 18.60 km/l with both the 6-speed manual and IVT (CVT) transmissions. In real-world city driving, expect around 13-15 km/l with the manual and 12-14 km/l with the CVT. On the highway, the 6-speed manual variant delivers around 17-18 km/l of mileage and 16-17 km/l with CVT. The 1.5L Turbo GDi petrol engine is more performance-focused, yet efficient. Hyundai claims around 20.00 km/l for both the 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT versions. In real-world use, the manual offers 12-13 km/l in the city and 17-18 km/l on highways, while the DCT delivers 13-15 km/l in the city and up to 18-20 km/l on highways.
