The Mahindra Thar Roxx engine line-up includes a 2.0 litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2 litre diesel—paired with both manual and automatic transmissions, and available in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) layouts in some variants. The Mahindra Thar Roxx’s 2.0 litre, turbo Petrol Direct Injection (TGDI) produces 160 Hp and 330 Nm when equipped with a manual gearbox. The Mahindra Thar Roxx automatic produces 174 Hp and 380Nm.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx diesel with manual gearbox delivers 150hp and 300Nm while the diesel automatic provides 172hp and 370NM of torque.  However, the 4WD is only offered on Thar Roxx diesel variants. The Thar Roxx petrol is 2WD only.
